BREAKING: Roger Federer Announces Massive Comeback Update for Fans as He Aims to Hit the Bullseye Once Again

Ever since Roger Federer announced his decision to skip the remainder of the 2021 season after his quarter-final defeat to Hubert Hurkacz at Wimbledon last year, fans have been waiting with bated breath for news of his comeback. Thankfully, the Swiss Maestro has become quite active on social media and put up a couple of training videos suggesting that the return is very well on cards.

While Federer dismissed any chance of making a return at Wimbledon this year, he expressed his intention to play the Laver Cup in London alongside his good friend, Rafael Nadal. However, there is more good news for fans as the Swiss star officially confirmed his first ATP tournament this year after a long hiatus.

Roger Federer is all set to make a grand comeback at Swiss Indoors this year

If reports are to be believed, Federer is all set to play the Swiss Indoors tournament in Basel, where he is a 10-time champion. The tournament got cancelled for the last two years owing to the pandemic and already announced its plans for a grand return this season.

Swiss Indoors is always special for Roger as he started off as a ball boy there before making it big as a professional tennis player. When he won the tournament for the tenth time in 2019, the Swiss Maestro was in tears as he found it hard to complete his speech.

Federer will also appear at the Laver Cup this year

As Federer is all set to make a grand return at Basel, fans will be ready to welcome their beloved champion and probably see him claim the title for a record 11th time. However, it remains to be seen if Roger intends to play other tournaments before making his return at the Swiss Indoors event.

It’s safe to say that the mighty comeback of Rafael Nadal could have triggered a spark in Federer to have a successful comeback. But, it won’t be as easy as it sounds because the Swiss star will have to face intense competition from both the next-gen stars as well as his peers like Djokovic and Nadal.

If everything goes according to the plan, Roger Federer will mark an entry into the Laver Cup and try to play as many tournaments as he can in order to stay fit for the 2023 ATP season.
