Coming into the tournament, Grigor Dimitrov had high hopes. But, he faced the tough challenge of Andy Murray right at the start. However, the former managed to maintain his calmness and managed to defeat the British champion in a classic 3-set-thriller. Dimitrov, who defeated Daniel Altmaier and Andy Murray in the first two rounds, will try to make it to the Brisbane final for a third time, having previously done so in 2012 and 2017.

On the other hand, his opponent, Jordan Thompson, created history after he defeated Rafael Nadal. The Spaniard, who came into the tournament as the title favorite, faced the wrath of the Aussie, who had the backing of the home crowd. In his opening match, Jordan Thompson defeated Aleksandar Vukic in straight sets. In the following round, he was defeated by Ugo Humbert.

One take at a time

In a world where player rivalries dominate social media conversations, I am someone who prefers to enjoy the skills showcased on the court rather than be involved in feuds over the greatness of players.
