Boris Becker‘s fondness for soccer was yet again witnessed on Tuesday night at San Siro. He was invited to the stadium by Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper, Roman Weidenfeller for their Champions League clash against AC Milan. This invitation later turned out to be fruitful for the ‘Die Schwarzgelben’ as they completely thrashed their opponent in front of their home crowd. But who brought them the luck?

Borussia Dortmund defeated AC Milan by 3-1 in the group stage match of the UEFA Champions League. Dortmund’s poster boy, Marco Reus opened the scoring with a penalty within 10 minutes of the game. Then Samuel Chakwueze scored the equalizer for AC Milan. But just after half-time, Bynoe-Gittens and Adeyemi came to the party and increased the margin. The German former world number one in tennis has a history of openly supporting his favorite team- Bayern Munich. The 6 Grand Slam titles holder has also talked about his love for football. Once he had revealed he was previously a soccer player and supporter before switching to tennis. But bringing the charm of luck to Bayern’s rival club can soon give rise to yet another ‘Der Klassiker’-German Clasico among the fans.

Here’s how Boris Becker reacted to his invitation to San Siro: “I would like to thank Borussia Dortmund (Roman Weidenfeller) for inviting me to the game Borussia Dortmund v AC Milan tonight! It was great fun and also brought you a little bit of luck.”

He hinted that this might be the biggest football transfer of the season.

However, this isn’t the first time that Boris Becker has been seen publicly supporting Bayern Munich. He had done it in the past as well. But now after bringing the luck to their rivals, he would have to think twice before attending a ‘Der Klassiker’ in the future.
