In the first round, he met Stan Wawrinka who has won three major titles in the past.

After that, he faced world no.10 Hubert Hurkacz, followed by Andrey Rublev, Carlos Alcaraz Garfia, and Felix Auger-Aliassime in the subsequent rounds.
