Holger Rune claimed the biggest victory of his nascent career on the ATP Tour when he defeated Novak Djokovic to claim the Paris Masters title. The victory against Djokovic is not the only highlight for the 19-year-old Danish star. Holger Rune has made an astounding record on his way to winning the Paris Masters.

The record set by the teenager wasn’t achieved even by some of the greatest players the sport has seen in its glorious history. Let’s take a look at the record that Rune recently created.

Holger Rune wins the Paris Master against Novak Djokovic with a marvelous record

The Danish player defeated Novak Djokovic in three sets in the finals of the Paris Masters. However, to achieve this defeat, he came across a difficult to draw. But that did not mellow down his morale and he continued with resilience. He defeated 5 players in the Top 10 of the ATP rankings to clinch the title. In the first round, he met Stan Wawrinka who has won three major titles in the past.

After that, he faced world no.10 Hubert Hurkacz, followed by Andrey Rublev, Carlos Alcaraz Garfia, and Felix Auger-Aliassime in the subsequent rounds.

He faced his toughest challenge in the finals when he met Novak Djokovic. But the bigger the challenge, the better the victory. And that is exactly what the Danish teenager felt. Rune received praise from all over the tennis world for his astounding victory.
