Over the years, Roger Federer has won fans across the globe with his audacious performances on the tennis court. Turning pro in 1998, the Swiss maestro strived hard during his early days on the tour to achieve success. The hard work finally paid off in 2003 as Federer won his maiden Grand Slam title at Wimbledon.

Since then, he has gone on to add another 19 major titles to become one of the most decorated players in men’s tennis. He, along with the likes of Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, has dominated on the ATP Tour for the last two decades. Recently, Federer celebrated his 41st birthday. Many famous personalities across the globe sent in their wishes.

Birthday wishes pour in for Roger Federer

The 20-time Grand Slam champion took to Instagram to share a picture on his birthday. He said, “You know you’re getting old when the candles cost more than the cake. Thanks for all the amazing birthday wishes.”

Many noted celebrities and sports persons wished Federer on his birthday. American alpine skier Mikaela Shiffrin wrote, “Happy birthday!!” Further, Nadal’s sister, Maria Isabel Nadal, also wished the Swiss legend, saying, “Happy birthday Roger! Best wishes!!” Other famous personalities, such as the likes of Lindsey Vonn and Bear Grylls, also sent in their wishes to Federer.

Federer hasn’t played for over a year now due to a knee injury sustained at Wimbledon last year. However, he has maintained that he will make a comeback at the Laver Cup next month.

Serena Williams’ former coach all praise for Federer

During a recent interview, Patrick Mouratoglou hailed the Swiss maestro, saying, Roger is a genius. He plays perfect tennis. I do not remember I ever saw a player playing tennis that way. And I think I will not do it until I die. Everything he does is perfect.”

Mouratoglou parted ways with Serena earlier this year and joined Simona Halep’s coaching team. Meanwhile, Serena emerged victorious in her opening round match at the National Bank Open in Toronto. She defeated Spain’s Nuria Parrizas Diaz in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.
