In the process, Sinner has entrenched his position at the 6th spot of the ATP rankings while closing the gap on the top 2 ranked players, Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz. However, despite his remarkable performances and accolades, the Italian tennis veteran, Diego Nargiso believes that his young compatriot still lacks one such major aspect that separates him from his fierce competitors.

In a recent interview with OASport, the 53-year-old was singing praises for his young countryman’s spectacular skillset on the court. Particularly, his “continuity of serves” has piqued the interest of the Italian tennis legend, Diego Nargiso. During the conversation, the former tennis player also asserted that Jannik Sinner is devastating in his response given his recent performances in the Canadian Open.
Despite serving poorly throughout the outdoor hardcourt event in Toronto, Nargiso revealed how the 22-year-old player still managed to emerge victorious while conceding only a single set to the Frenchman, Gaël Monfils. However, the Italian also highlighted a crucial area where the current world No. 6 needs to improve in order to compare himself to the likes of Djokovic and Alcaraz.

Nargiso said, “It’s all about how adept he is at responding, but in order to be able to compare himself to tennis players like Djokovic, Alcaraz and Medvedev he can’t afford to miss the line so often.”
Unlike Nargiso, another prominent figure in the tennis community believes that the young Italian possesses the skillset, which puts him in the same category as Djokovic and Alcaraz.
