Djokovic on the leader of the next generation of tennis stars

Jannik Sinner met Novak Djokovic earlier this year in Wimbledon, where the Italian player was ousted by the year-end number 1. Although he beat Sinner in straight sets, the Serbian star said that the 22-year-old had proved why he was one of the leaders of the next generation. He also said that Sinner was one of the best players in the world and that he loved being able to play with this generation of stars.

Sinner’s stint following the US Open showed that Djokovic was likely correct. He has improved immensely but still has a ways to go before he can claim a grand slam title. He will have tough opponents as he continues to rise to the top and adopts new strategies.
