Swiss Maestro Roger Federer has been out of the tennis court since Wimbledon last year. After that, he had to go through knee surgery and since then he has been going through rehab.
Recently, he announced the news of his return on the tour in his home tournament in Basel. Interestingly, one current top superstar will also join him in this tournament.

Carlos Alcaraz will join Roger Federer in the Swiss Indoors in Basel
According to recent reports, world number seven Carlos Alcaraz will take part in the Swiss Indoors Basel. This tournament will take place from the 22nd of October to the 30th of October. Interestingly, this will be the first time the Spaniard will take part in this tournament.
Meanwhile, fans are already excited about the prospect of a potential clash between Alcaraz and the 20-time Grand Slam champion, Roger Federer. Earlier, the Swiss star had already announced his participation, and now Alcaraz’s announcement made it even more interesting.

Meanwhile, young Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz has been one of the most consistent players in world tennis for the last few months. Many thought he would be the favorite to win the French Open after his back-to-back titles at Barcelona and the Madrid Open. Unfortunately, he lost in the quarter-final against Alexander Zverev.
Now, he’s looking forward to the grass-court season. With many top players already missing from the tournament, it will be a great opportunity for the 19-year-old to show his grass-court prowess as well.
Federer is inching closer to his return on the tour
Meanwhile, Federer has been doing a lot more indoor training to get fit for the tour. He has been posting a lot on his Instagram and Twitter about his various training sessions. So, there’s a good chance he might return to the tour much earlier than scheduled.

Before playing in Basel, he will return for the Laver Cup, which will take place in September. Right now, he has very little chance to play at Wimbledon. However, he could surprise everyone at the US Open, which will take place before the Laver Cup.
