This defeat marked Alcaraz’s 9th consecutive exit from a tournament without a trophy and fourth loss on clay in 31 matches since the start of 2022. After the match, he added, “It’s a difficult defeat, it hurt me a lot. I felt good physically and it’s important, and I think that with work I will get better… but having opportunities is difficult

Carlos Alzaraz added, “There is great expectation in me and in the tournaments where I go. People think that I have to win every match and in the end this is tennis, there are many players who have a high level. Right now I see that those who are up there, in certain moments, are the ones that make the difference and that is where I have to improve.”

His recent performances have drawn in several comments from the tennis world. Renowned American tennis commentator, Chris Brown feels Alcaraz might have seen the summit a little too early.

Chris Brown says he’s very ‘excited’ about Alcaraz despite his recent horrific run at the Tour

Brown came to the Tennis Channel Inside-In podcast and shed light on the 20YO world number two’s current run. He said, “I would say, the person I’m most excited about now is Carlos Alcaraz. And I say that it’s easy to say that now because his trajectory is certainly on the down at the moment. He may well come up, win Roland Garros this year.”
