Spanish tennis prodigy Carlos Alcaraz recently spoke about the stress factors of being a professional tennis star as he delved into his own experiences in the last few months before the Indian Wells 2024 tournament.

Carlos Alcaraz’s amazing performance impressed the whole tennis fraternity and also brought him the champion’s title in the Indian Wells 2024. Now that his fans can’t stop praising him, this Grand Slam winner delved deeper into the hard times he endured before this success.

In a recent press conference, this Wimbledon champion was asked about his feelings post-victory at any tournament’s finals. The interviewer asked whether he enjoyed being on the court less when he wasn’t performing well enough to win titles. In his response, Alcaraz said- “Well, it was really difficult period after Wimbledon. I couldn’t find my style, my game, but anyway, I was enjoying after Wimbledon a really good American swing after that.” 

Speaking about last year’s performance at the Beijing Open and Shanghai Open, Alcaraz spoke about how he didn’t take his average performance from last year seriously since he was enjoying his game. However, this Spanish tennis star finally delved deeper into his stress factors and anxieties taking over his love for tennis.

Previously, his coach spoke about the Spaniard ATP star’s mental health training. However, despite that, the tennis star endured a challenging phase in his life for the past few months. Alcaraz commented- “the last few months it was difficult for me because I didn’t find myself. I was struggling to enjoy on the court. My family, my team, people close to me was telling me that, that what happened to me, that I was not smiling as much as I was doing before. Yeah, it’s difficult moment for me, but yeah, I was enjoying after Wimbledon.”

Alcaraz spoke about losing ” a bit of confidence” in the last few months before the prestigious BNP Paribas Open 2024

At the Indian Wells 2024 tournament’s press conference, fans found the world’s number two tennis player candidly speaking about his mental health issues. He commented- “It’s been a difficult few months for me, I lost a bit of confidence. Not after the Australian Open, but during the South American trip. After Buenos Aires I didn’t play good tennis. I fought in every training session to keep my confidence high.” 

After defeating Felix Auger-Aliassime at the tournament, Alcaraz spoke about regaining his lost confidence. He said– “Today was a really good match: from the first to the last point unlike the debut. It will be very helpful for my confidence and my tennis. Defending a title is important. The first thing you have to do if you want to defend the title is to forget that you won the previous year. It’s about being yourself, being 100% every day if you want to achieve good results. I don’t think about defending the title, I’m focused on the things to improve in the match.”
