Alcaraz has now become the youngest player to become the Miami Open champion in its 37-year-old history. The Spanish youngster shared the tip from his coach that helped him put his best in the finals and clinch the title.

“He told me that everybody knows it’s going to be my first final, but trying to think that this is the first match of the tournament, trying to manage the nerves like I did in the semifinal, which it was my second one,” Alcaraz said.

The Spanish youngster paid heed to his coach’s advice and followed his tips meticulously to achieve success in Miami.

“I mean, trying to put my game, trying to don’t think about the final. Just keep going, keep strong mentally, like I did in every match in this tournament. Just enjoy the moment, enjoy the match, enjoy my first Masters 1000 final and go for it.

Juan had focused on making Alcaraz feel at ease during the finals so that he can put his best game forward. Earlier, Alcaraz displayed his admiration for Ferrero after defeating Hubert Hurkacz in the semis by dedicating that win to the Spanish coach.

Former world no. 1 Juan Carlos Ferrero has been Alcaraz’s coach for a while now. The legendary player, who could not be there in Miami because his father had passed away, made a last-minute entry for the final and surprised Alcaraz.

Alcaraz’s stunning performance at Miami Open final

Carlos Alcaraz Garfia came out victorious in the finals of the Miami Open 2022. It was Spanish teenager’s first time in the Miami Open as a finalist. Moreover. he defeated yet another first time finalist of the Miami Open – Norway’s Casper Ruud . The Spanish player defeated him in straight sets, 7-5,6-4.
