Former Spanish tennis player David Ferrer dropped an exclusive remark for Carlos Alcaraz. Despite, speaking highly of his old pal, Rafael Nadal, Ferrer picked his other favorite for the clay court. Apart from Nadal, Ferrer seemed visibly hopeful about Carlos Alcaraz Garfia. Previously, he made many exclusive remarks praising Alcaraz’s game and humility in 2021. Back in 2021, Ferrer declined to draw a comparison between Rafael Nadal and the Spaniard tennis prodigy. He said it was impossible since he termed Nadal as a special tennis talent. However, years after, David Ferrer made a significant remark on Carlos Alcaraz while speaking about Nadal.

Spanish ATP Pro David Ferrer chooses Carlos Alcaraz as his favorite player for the upcoming French Open tournament

In a recent interview, Ferrer was asked to pick his favorite at the Roland Garros. In his response, this former ATP Pro said- “Now it’s difficult to say because I haven’t seen him compete. If I watch him play for three weeks to see how he feels and his tennis level, I may have a different perception or I may adjust more to reality.” Not only that, Ferrer chose Carlos Alcaraz when he was asked about any other player he would be rooting for at the French Open.

David Ferrer always showed great expectations for Carlos Alcaraz. In 2021, he expressed that Alcaraz has great potential for his future tennis endeavors. While he didn’t compare Alcaraz with Rafa, Ferrer said- “because it’s impossible, Rafa is a special one, like Roger or Novak. But it’s good for the tennis, we are seeing new faces and you know, for Spanish people, it’s great to have Carlos Alcaraz. He can play in all surfaces, I think so..”

This former Spanish tennis star believed that Alcarz would take Rafael Nadal’s place in tennis in the future.

David Ferrer said that Carlos Alcaraz will be the “future” of tennis

In an interview in 2021, Ferrer said- “He finished the year in Top 30, he has an amazing year. The important thing is that he’s humble, he’s humble, he likes to listen. I know Carlos because Juan Carlos is a good friend of mine. I’m very happy for them because after Rafa, he is going to be the future.” This comment assured fans that Ferrer is an Alacarz fan.

He further added- “The good thing about Carlos is that his shots are very powerful. I watched the match against Tsitsipas, the World No. 3, and he dominated most of it. He is just 18 years old and that is very impressive.”

David Ferrer’s recent remark proved that After Nadal he is rooting for Alcaraz. However, at the same time, Ferrer wasn’t ready to lose hope about the Spanish tennis legend. Nonetheless, he vouches for Alcaraz’s brilliance to take Nadal’s place in the future.
