Former tennis player Alexandr Dolgopolov has been quite famous on the tour. He had a unique style of play and used to take the game to his opponents. He enjoyed playing on clay.

In the recent few days, Dolgopolov has been through a lot of struggle. He has moved up and down Turkey to drop his mother and sister. Being a Ukrainian citizen, he has pledged to give it his all for his motherland.

Alexandr Dolgopolov is ready 

Alexandr reflected on the way he trained during those past few days. He was taught by some top professionals. However, he did maintain that he is not an expert but determined to save his land. 

The 33-year-old stated, “In just a few days, I and my Ukrainians completely destroyed the info world and no one in any free country had doubts about the truth and who is the aggressor. By that time I already started practicing shooting, and I was very lucky, that an ex-professional soldier taught me for 5-7 days. They were really happy to help, once they heard my goal, big thanks to our friends. I’m not Rambo in a week but quite comfortable with weapons.”

Dolgopolov in numbers

In his 15-year long career on the Pro tour, Dolgopolov won three titles and was runner-up on six occasions. He won titles in Buenos Aires and Umag on clay. He won his only title on hardcourt at Citi Open in Washington in 2012. As far as Grand Slams are concerned, his best performance came at the Australian Open when he reached the quarterfinal in 2011.

Similarly, on a couple of occasions, he reached the fourth round of the US Open. He achieved that in 2011 and in 2017 in New York.
