Sickness is an unfortunate and annoying reality of life. We always seem to get ill at the most inconvenient times. For American player Taylor Fritz, the situation seemed to be the same. Fritz faced his compatriot Tommy Paul in the Mexican Open and lost the three-set match. Losing the match was not the only issue for Fritz. He also felt sick during and after the match, which led to a long night for both the American star and his girlfriend. Morgan Riddle recounted the incident on her Instagram story.

After he got sick on court last night we were up until 4am with the tournament doctors. He couldn’t keep any food down, chills, severe dehydration, full body cramping and almost had to go to the hospital. So scary. He is too stubborn to default and pushed himself too hard. These high humidity tournaments are no joke. Sad way to end the week but so proud of the few weeks and excited to get to Indian Wells,” read the story on Morgan Riddle’s Instagram.
