Rafael Nadal is about to grace us with his return. The Spaniard is set to play in the Brisbane International, an ATP 500 tournament. Many players use it as a warm-up for the Australian Open, and it is the reason Rafa has decided to take part in the tournament. 

Nadal has been absent since the Australian Open earlier this year. The 37-year-old star couldn’t manage to recover from injuries but is set to return to the sport finally. His fans are on an emotional roller coaster at this development.

Nadal was sorely missed throughout the 2023 season. He could not recover from an injury sustained in the first slam of the year and later announced that he would skip the whole season. This is sad news for his fans as he comes near retirement. However, he has finally returned to tennis and will play his first match as he receives a wild card draw for the tournament. As the video of him arriving in Brisbane went viral, his fans couldn’t hold back their tears as they were ready to witness his return to the court.

One Rafa fan said that they were crying seeing him back in a tournament.

For one fan, watching Nadal walk down in Brisbane was a sight for sore eyes for them.

One fan of the King of Clay flamed Novak Djokovic as they wrote, ‘Novax is shaking’, playing off of the fact that the Serbinator refuses to get the COVID-19 vaccination.

A fan said that the arrival of Nadal warmed their heart as they saw the return of the ‘True warrior of tennis’.

One fan could breathe a sigh of relief. For them, just saying they love Nadal is an understatement. Rather, he is the superhero of the sport for them, and they welcomed him back with all their love.

Nadal’s return to the tour comes with much joy for tennis fans. However, he is not the only player who is returning to Australia. 

Naomi Osaka set to play in Brisbane

Naomi Osaka, like Rafa, has also been absent from tennis for the 2023 season. She announced her pregnancy before the Australian Open and the birth of her daughter, Shai, later in June. Since then, she has been working hard to come back to her tennis-playing days. Osaka also announced a return to the Brisbane International, with hopes of playing in Melbourne later.

She has also arrived in Brisbane and is training to play as soon as the tournament commences. We are ready to see two absent players set fire to the stage again. As they step up to the field, who will you bet your money on?
