Daniil Medvedev Admits Novak Djokovic is Not Treated Same as Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal

World No.1 Novak Djokovic emerged as the champion of the Rolex Paris Masters 2021. He made an incredible comeback against World No.2 Daniil Medvedev and defeated him in three sets in the final. The final scoreline of the match was 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.

With his victory at the Rolex Paris Masters 2021, Novak Djokovic will be ending the 2021 season as the World No.1 player yet again. Intriguingly, the Serbian legend has already won five titles this season so far.

Daniil Medvedev believes Novak Djokovic is not considered as great as Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal

In the post-match interview, Medvedev faced an intriguing question. He was asked if he believes that Djokovic is not regarded as good as Federer and Nadal. Interestingly, the Russian answered in the affirmative.

“I feel sometimes (that Novak is not considered as Federer or Nadal). But unless haters, people start to notice what he has done and that he can do more…” said Medvedev in the interview.

Medvedev highlighted that many people, including Djoker’s haters, don’t really know what he has done in the sport so far. He feels that when they start to notice him, they will get to know about his extraordinary achievements.

Medvedev says that the upcoming generation will be big fans of Djokovic

In the same interview, Medvedev stated that after about ten years, when fans will read more about Nole, they will find him really amazing. He even took an example and mentioned that he was too young when Pete Sampras used to play. However, when he read about him later, he found out what an incredible player he was.

“Maybe ten years after he retires, new people coming to tennis will read on Wikipedia that Novak is everywhere and was amazing. Like me with Sampras, I was too young to watch him play but I read he was amazing,” added the World No.2 player.

Daniil Medvedev failed to defend his title at the Rolex Paris Masters 2021. However, he will be trying really hard to do so at the ATP Finals 2021 that will be kicking off from next week. Will the Russian be able to end his 2021 season on a high?
