World No. 1 Novak Djokovic emerged as the champion of the Australian Open 2021. Facing Daniil Medvedev in the finals, the Serbian legend didn’t face any difficulty and defeated him in straight sets. The final scoreline of the match was 7-5, 6-2, 6-2.
In a recent interview, Daniil Medvedev spoke extensively about the ‘Big Three’. Even though he thrashed both Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal at the ATP Tour Finals 2020, he believes that they along with Roger Federer are the three biggest names in the history of tennis.
“Nothing else to say than they are undoubtedly, like, I don’t think anyone can argue with the three biggest names in tennis history. I’m talking only about results. I’m not talking off court, game. I’m talking about results. What they did in tennis is unbelievable for me, like I said last time,” said Medvedev.

The new World No. 3 player also called them the ‘cyborgs’ of tennis and said that they were completely unbelievable.
“I’m 25 now. To win nine Australian Opens, I need to win every year until I’m 34. I mean, I believe in myself, but I don’t think I’m able to do it. Same with Rafa. I mean, 13 Roland Garros… We’re talking about some cyborgs of tennis in a good way. They’re just unbelievable,” added the Russian player.

Medvedev claimed that he has the ability to beat the Big Three, and he has already defeated them in London. However, he admitted that he needed to play better against them in Grand Slams.

“I beat some of them in some big tournaments, like London for example. Just need to be better next time in the Grand Slam finals against these two guys or Roger,” continued the World No. 3 player.
He also highlighted that the next-gen superstars are giving the Big 3 a really tough fight. However, the Russian also accepted that the ‘Big Three’ are the three hardest opponents that he had faced so far.
“For sure, when we are also in the zone, we can bring them big fight, we can win some matches, some may be big titles. But it’s just that the percentage is on their side. Yeah, I rank these top three toughest opponents in my life,” concluded Medvedev.
Fans are aware of the fact that Medvedev can defeat Djoker, Rafa, or Federer when it is his day. However, the Russian needs to play better, especially in the majors against them. Will Medvedev be able to win his maiden Grand Slam title in 2021?
