It was the night of the second semi-final of the Australian Open 2021 and fans witnessed an epic encounter. Daniil Medvedev earned himself a ticket to the finale by defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets. The Russian player dominated the entire match and completely thrashed his opponent. The final scoreline of the match was 6-4, 6-2, 7-5.
Although Stefanos Tsitsipas showed a fighting spirit in the match, he didn’t stand anywhere near Daniil Medvedev. With this win, the World No.4 player is currently on a 20-match winning streak and will definitely pose a serious challenge to Novak Djokovic in the final.
In the post-match interview, Medvedev recalled the memories of his first Grand Slam final at the US Open 2019. Although he lost that match against Rafael Nadal, he exhibited some great fight and skills on the court.

“I took a lot of experience. It was my first Grand Slam final against one of the greatest. Sunday will be against one of the other greatest. US Open was a crazy match. We’re going to see Sunday, we can’t know before the match what’s going to happen,” said Medvedev in the interview.
Medvedev highlighted how the experience of that match really helped him in his today’s game and will also help him in the finals. He is also pretty excited about the final against Djokovic but believes that nobody knows what will happen in that match.

“Definitely not easy. You saw the match with Rafa. I got a little bit scared and tight because it’s the semi-finals of a Slam. For us, it’s not like 50 like for Roger or Novak. I’m really happy to be in the final,” added the World No.4 player.
