The 2024 tennis season is bringing surprises for American tennis stars. While the fans had to end their dreams with Taylor Fritz‘s brutal elimination from the Australian Open at the hands of the Djoker, they were surely looking forward to seeing him represent the country at the Davis Cup. As the 26-year-old has been pushing himself physically to attain better spots, he recently incurred a hip injury, taking him out of the running for the Davis Cup.

Instead, Chris Eubanks is set to make his playing debut in the event, taking the place of Taylor Fritz. While Eubanks earns a chance to represent his nation, Taylor Fritz, unfortunately, keeps himself on the sidelines. This unexpected amendment added another layer of anticipation for fans, handing Eubanks the responsibility to contribute to Team USA’s run for Davis Cup glory.
As the team carries an impressive history of 32 tournament victories, the USA will now be aiming to reclaim the championship after their last victory all the way back in 2007.

As the final line-up is set to step foot in the event, Team USA is scheduled to face Ukraine in the 2024 Davis Cup qualifiers. With the SEB arena in Vilnius, Lithuania, as the venue, the two nations will play the day 1 qualifier this Thursday, February 1.

The American squad is all set to begin their journey with an aim to secure a spot in the Davis Cup Finals later this year alongside last year’s finalists Australia and Italy.
