Jannik Sinner led Italy did one of the major turnarounds that anyone would have thought of. A determined Italian side crossed paths with Novak Djokovic’s team Serbia and ultimately won the encounter to secure their place into the finals of the Davis Cup. With just one step closer to glory, they would be willing to give in everything against Australia and win the title.

Team Italy will be coming into the finals of the Davis Cup with confidence on their side. Just a few hours ago, Jannik Sinner from Team Italy made one of the biggest turnarounds and defeated Novak Djokovic led Serbia to secure his place in the finals.

Miomir Kecmanovic and Lorenzo Musetti faced off in the first match of the tie, and the Serbian won his match comfortably. Despite a 3-1 lead from Kecmanovic, Musetti won 9-7 to win the first set. In the second set, Kecmanovic made a strong comeback into the contest, winning 6-2. In the third and the final set, he picked up pace and won the decisive set, 6-1, to give Serbia a 1-0 lead.

While many thought that it was the Serbian who would win the match, it was the Italian who turned things around. In a three-set thriller, it was Sinner who managed to win with the scoreline 6-2, 2-6, 7-5. It then all came to the third and the decider match. While Novak Djokovic teamed up with Miomir Kecmanovic, Sinner teamed up with Lorenzo Sonego to decide the fate of the encounter.

However, a 6-3, 6-4 win for the Italian ensured their way into the finals of the Davis Cup 2023. After making twice into the semi-finals consecutively, they finally managed to win this time around. On the other hand, their opponents, Australia also had a fine run against Finland.

Australia managed to reach the Davis Cup final for the second time in a row after Alex de Minaur‘s decisive 2-0 victory over Finland in Malaga. After Alexei Popyrin defeated Otto Virtanen 7-6, 6-2 in the opening singles match, the world number twelve thoroughly outplayed Emil Ruusuvuori 6-4, 6-3 in straight sets. With just one step closer to glory, who among the two teams could shine?

Prediction: Team Italy could lift the Davis Cup

The team led by the likes of Jannik SInner and Lorenzo Musetti look sharp and does not know any stopping at the moment. The way that they played against a tough Serbian side showed their character and resilience to win the tie. However, it is the grand stage now. They will be up against Australia, a team that has had a glorious past in the Davis and who have also been the runners-up last year.

However, as it stands, the Italians hold an upper edge over their opponents as they will be coming into the finals with the confidence of defeating the title contenders.
