But it looks like a cumulonimbus is circling on top of Kwon right now. Earlier in September, Kwon Soon Woo faced Thailand’s Samrej Kasidit in the men’s singles match. After this unexpected loss, Kwon blew his top and smashed his racket against the floor of the court in fury. He went ballistic and even refused to shake hands with Kasidit. But little did he know the consequences he would have to face for his unsportsmanlike conduct.

K-pop star and Kwon Soon Woo part ways

After the video went viral, Kwon faced a backlash for his actions. Many of them even went a little further and questioned his suitability with the uber-popular Yubin as a partner. Yubin was even urged to end her relationship with the 25-year-old Korean tennis player over concerns about his temperamental nature. But the K-pop star kept her lips sealed tight till the last moment after her partner’s on-court outburst.

However, things got stirred up when her fans found Yubin deleting all of her photos with Kwon Soon Woo from her Instagram account. It perhaps hinted at the change in her relationship status, which was about to come. On October 5, RRR Entertainment, which apparently is Yubin’s agency, released a statement on this. They confirmed that the pair had broken up. “It’s true that Yubin has broken up with Kwon Soon Woo“, a representative of RRR Entertainment said to various media outlets.

Yubin’s agency has confirmed that they would continue to cheer each other and remain friends. It would appear this news is met with seemingly mixed reactions. While most of them are happy, there are a few who are sad too. Seeing this iconic couple break up just after a day of Yubin’s 35th birthday is heartbreaking for some of her fans.
