As the grand slams of the year have ended, the Australian Open will be the next one that follows in January 2024. The social media pages of the tournament have begun teasing the first slam of the year. They showed a teaser in which Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis are celebrating. The teaser is creating quite the buzz of a return of the two players in the slam next year.

Kokkinakis and Kyrgios partnered up for the 2022 season and put on some outstanding performances. In the Sunshine Doubles, they reached the semifinal in the Miami Open. But their best performance came in the Australian Open, where they went all guns blazing.

The Australian Open starts the season as the first major of the year. Since 2023 is about to end, the Aussie slam has started teasing the tournament. One of their first teasers includes the announcement that the tickets for the championship have gone on sale and can be purchased now. On the post, they wrote the caption, “Bringing the lights, camera, and action. It’s going to be special 👑@NickKyrgios🤝@TKokkinakis“.

They shared the announcement with a video. In the video, they showed Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis chest bumping. The video also had the caption, “Hits like a home crowd, ” giving us the possibility that the two players will return to the tournament. If true, it is a major announcement, as Kyrgios has been absent from the tour since the start of the year.

They brought the same fire in the final and won it in straight sets. It was a great victory for Australia and for the pair, as it is their only slam final to date.
