In a recent revelation, Milos Raonic shared his thoughts on the ATP’s big plans for tennis, comparing them to the LIV Golf situation. He points out how the ATP, aware of the PGA’s financial strength, wants to avoid getting into costly fights. Raonic sees the PGA struggling despite having more money, hinting that clashes drain resources and harm reputation.

“To me, it seems like an effort to appease. Everybody thought the drama with LIV golf and the PGA was kind of going to come to a much more simmering heat through the summer after that potential merger was announced. I think the way it works is the PGA is much stronger than the ATP,” said Raonic in the interview.

“I think they’ve had much more monetary success. I think they probably have much stronger treasury balance sheets and so forth. And you saw even with all that strength that it couldn’t compete, right, all those legal fees were eating up all through their treasury. So I think the ATP is aware of that in many way,.” he further added

He suggested that the ATP should play smart and avoid public battles that might hurt tennis in the long run. Instead, Raonic believes they should work internally to handle changes without causing chaos. His main point? The ATP needs a thoughtful game plan to avoid the troubles seen in other sports. It’s about finding a strategy that strengthens tennis without risking its harmony and reputation.

One take at a time

In a world where player rivalries dominate social media conversations, I am someone who prefers to enjoy the skills showcased on the court rather than be involved in feuds over the greatness of players. Right from my early childhood, I have been engrossed by the legendary rivalry between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. It turned me into a ?Fedal? fan and eventually, when I graduated from college, this fandom created an interest in covering their exploits on the court.
