Kyrgios announced the passing of his grandmother on Instagram on 17th May. He shared a sweet picture with a heartfelt caption. Along with his girlfriend, many close to the Aussie player shared their sympathies.

Nick Kyrgios has mixed feelings

Kyrgios broke the news of his grandma’s passing a day after the birthday of his girlfriend, Costeen Hatzi. Although he was in mourning, Kyrgios still made sure to celebrate Hatzi’s birthday. He even shared a picture of her on his social media with a message to express his gratefulness for the time they spent together.

Hatzi also shared a picture of her birthday celebration on her Instagram account and thanked everyone who wished her a happy birthday. The picture was shared on her Instagram story, and Kyrgios also uploaded the picture on his Instagram story.

Kyrgios shares sad news with fans

On 17th May, the world number 26 was in mourning and shared a somber piece of news with his fans and followers. He announced the passing of his grandmother, who was the inspiration for his jokester persona. In the post, he called his grandmother, Yiayia, and wished that she would enjoy her time with his grandfather, who passed away last year. Kyrgios shared three pictures of his grandmother, one with him and his brother, and two solo pictures.
