The 24-year-old Aussie had a stellar start to his 2024 campaign and with this win against Alcaraz, he’s now bursting with confidence. Alex de Minaur defeated the Spaniard in front of 14,820 loud fans in the Rod Laver Arena by a 6-4,5-7(10-3) margin. The Australian Open is set to kick-start on January 14 and will run till January 28. With this recent performance, Aussie fans are now hoping to get something big from the 56th edition of the AO. “We’ll just have to wait and see … I heard a pretty good quote: ‘How big would you dream if you knew you couldn’t fail?’ That’s been the motto, I’m pushing myself every day and hopefully, the sky’s the limit. I’m extremely happy … my level is in a good spot coming into Melbourne. 2024 has been very good to me, hopefully, I can keep it going,” Alex de Minaur said.
