The 36-year-old tennis player exhibits two different personas: one behind the scenes and one on the court. Australian tennis legend Paul McNamee recently claimed about Djokovic’s presence in the locker room, shedding light on this lesser-known aspect of the Serbian player’s personality.

The 69-year-old Australian tennis legend recently took to his Twitter handle to share the personality difference, that the 24-time Grand Slam champion has. He wrote, “Djokovic is variously described as divisive and insincere. Of course, that’s from people who don’t know him. If you want the reality, ask the locker room. That’s where he is the MAN… highly respected and popular. So perhaps check with his peers?”

Discussions about Djokovic’s gregarious demeanor off the court have occurred previously. A few months ago, Holger Rune also praised Djokovic, highlighting how well-liked he is by his teammates. The Dane said, “Djokovic said many good things to me….. It’s funny because it’s always Federer and Nadal who are named as the good guys, but when it comes to future generations, I think Djokovic gives the most.”

These are the consistent opinions of many who have engaged with Djokovic outside of the tennis court, portraying the Serbian player as both a fierce rival and a well-liked member of his peers. On the other hand, he also highlighted how Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have always been the good guys, leaving the world number one behind.

However, for future generations, the perspective and the good person will be different. In addition, former WTA doubles world No. 1 Sania Mirza expressed similar views in an interview with The Week last year, saying that Djokovic is well-liked on the circuit and is respected by his colleagues.

She said, “I do not know if he (Djokovic) is misunderstood on the circuit; he is quite liked actually on the tour.” However, In contrast to the consensus, Andy Roddick, believes that Djokovic doesn’t receive enough recognition for his kind demeanor among individuals inside and outside the locker room.
