Novak Djokovic has broken many records over the years. Just this year, he broke the record grand slam and Masters titles in the ATP. Along with the humungous list of titles, the Serbian star also has the highest weeks at number 1 on his list. He also went on to win his seventh ATP Finals, which means he now has more ATP finals titles than Roger Federer. Despite all the records he has broken, the likelihood for Djokovic to break one record is almost non-existent.

As he is focused on winning title after title, the Djoker is quite far from equaling and surpassing another record set by Federer. This record also features Jimmy Connors and Ivan Lendl who stand in between Federer and Djokovic.

With his seventh ATP Finals title, the Djoker went ahead of Roger Federer yet again as he surpassed him in the tally of year-end titles. Along with this, he has already broken the record for most grand slams in men’s tennis as he now sits at 24. Additionally, Djokovic also has 400 weeks at number 1, far surpassing Federer’s 310 weeks at rank 1.

As he continues to break each record in his sight, he is falling short in one major record. The 24-time grand slam champion is far behind when it comes to consecutive weeks at number 1. The current record is held by Federer, who has 237 consecutive weeks at number 1, while Djokovic has 122 consecutive weeks. Between them are Connors and Ivan Lendl, who have 160 and 157 consecutive weeks, respectively.

The Djoker looking to break a prestigious ATP record

The number 1 player currently holds the record for most grand slam and Masters titles. But he also has the record for the most ATP singles titles in his sights, as he currently has 98 singles titles. Standing in his way are Federer with 103 titles and Connors with 109 titles. Given that he is still demolishing the competition in the current tennis scene, there is a great chance that Djokovic will break the record.

Finding out his record was in jeopardy did not unsettle Connors. The American tennis legend recognized the talent of Djokovic and said that he wants his record to be broken by the Serb. While he said that it would be good to keep the record, he acknowledged that they were meant to be broken and gave his blessings to the Djoker.
