In a recent interview, Canadian star Felix Auger-Aliassime opened up about a tough 2023 where he dealt with injuries and uncertainties. He talked about a tricky situation with Toni Nadal, Rafael Nadal’s uncle, who’s been part of his coaching team. Auger-Aliassime reveals the struggle to have Toni join him for tournaments.

“2023 was complicated by injuries and uncertainties. In September I was training in Montreal and I wasn’t sure if I would finish the season. It was difficult to engage Toni and ask him to join me in some tournaments, so for a certain period, he didn’t accompany me. But the goal is for his presence to be more constant. Everything is still fine with Frederic Fontang,” said Felix Auger Aliassime in the interview.

The plot intensifies even more when we recall their complex relationship. Back at the Roland Garros in 2022, Toni Nadal sat in Nadal’s box during their match. This has further increased speculation about the partnership between the two.

While revealing the instances that happened back in 2022 when Toni Nadal sat in Rafael Nadal’s box, Felix suggested that he did not have any problem with it and that it did not bother him in any way.

One take at a time

In a world where player rivalries dominate social media conversations, I am someone who prefers to enjoy the skills showcased on the court rather than be involved in feuds over the greatness of players. Right from my early childhood, I have been engrossed by the legendary rivalry between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. It turned me into a ?Fedal? fan and eventually, when I graduated from college, this fandom created an interest in covering their exploits on the court.
