Breaking discipline can go terribly wrong in an athlete’s career. Indian rising junior ATP star Sumit Nagal can be included in the list, who faced a major setback at the beginning of his career due to not adhering to the rules. Nagal had been making headlines for his incredible performance at the Monte Carlo Masters. However, in 2016 the Davis Cup committee opted out of selecting him for the Indian team.

This is because Nagal was reportedly hungover and had to skip his practice session the next morning. Nagal was preparing for his upcoming tie with New Zealand in Chandigarh and he missed the practice while playing against Korea in the tie-break. AITA claimed that his behavior was unacceptable and hence he was not selected.

According to PTI, a source of AITA said-“We got to know that he finished the mini-bar in his hotel room. He is a very talented guy but when you are only 19 years old and you are getting a chance to be in the Indian team and you miss practice sessions, it’s not acceptable,”
