Venus and Serena Williams are possibly two of the most decorated players in the WTA circuit. While both of them have been World No. 1, in the rankings list, their achievements individually and together have been phenomenal, to say the least. Serena is a 23-time Grand Slam-winning champion, and Venus is also a 5 time Grand Slam winner.
Tony Goldwyn talks about taking up Paul Cohen’s role
At the SAG awards, Tony Goldwyn a cast member opened up about his involvement in the movie.
Tony Goldwyn says he lied about being able to play tennis to get a role in the movie. Goldwyn played the role of Paul Cohen, a famous coach, who agreed to offer his services to coach Venus, but not Serena. As a result, Serena had to stay back and ask for help with coaching from Venus instead.
In an interview at the SAG awards, Godwyn also talked about how great it was meeting the sisters, who are very grounded, despite being as famous as they are.

“Well, they are executive producers on the movie. I’ve met Venus during production. But I didn’t get to meet Serena until the movie was finished. And they’re just the most extraordinary given, first of all, the most beautiful time, you know, down to earth, women,” he said to the interviewer.
In fact, Venus and Serena’s involvement in the movie also has a story that Will Smith often likes to share. While they collaborated on the movie a lot, it was after they had seen the movie that they decided to associate their names with it, officially.
Golwyn of Scandal and Ghost fame also said their story is amazing and that he is really proud to be a part of this movie.
