Andy Murray has been in great form recently. The British player, after suffering through an arduous time because of his prevalent injuries and major surgeries, had reached the finals of the Stuttgart Open.

However, the player, along with the defeat, also suffered from an abdominal injury. This has hampered his participation in the Cinch Championships, making his fans speculate about his participation in Wimbledon.

Andy Murray to withdraw from Queen’s because of his injury
Andy Murray took the crowd by surprise through his astounding performance in the Stuttgart Open where he defeated world no. 6 Stefanos Tsitsipas and the Aussie, Nick Kyrgios, to get into the finals of the Stuttgart Open. The former world no. 1 faced Matteo Berrettini in the finals and unfortunately lost. The disappointment didn’t just end there, as the Brit suffered an abdominal injury which led him to withdraw from the Clinch Championship at Queen’s.

He expressed his regret over this and stated, “The tournament means a lot to me, and it’s disappointing not to compete, especially after playing some good matches on the grass already.” A scan showed his inability to take part in the Championship. Murray stated, “After having a scan this afternoon, an abdominal injury means I won’t be fit to compete at Queen’s this year.”

Will Murray play at Wimbledon?
Andy Murray has won the Cinch Championship five times previously in the past. So, that justified his regret over not being able to play in it. He was scheduled to face Lorenzo Sonego in the first round at the Queen’s. Moreover, the former three times grand slam champion has experssed his desire to return to Wimbledon.

He stated, “I’m looking forward to what the future has to hold. I’m feeling a lot better about my game. Hopefully, my body can hold up a little while longer so I can keep playing matches like this.”
