Children often imbibe the habits and interests of their parents, it is said. Be it activities or profession, the fact holds true in most cases. However, the same is not true for Andy Murray and his children. While the British tennis legend has left his fans in awe with his sporting prowess, his children have different routines. What does the Brit think about them pursuing tennis in the future?

During an interview, Murray opened up about how far away from the sport his children were. He said, “My eldest [Sophia, seven] loves animals, so we got a couple of rabbits the other day. She’s a lot more interested in the pets than anything tennis-related.”

When Murray showed his funny side

The British tennis star participated in the US Open last year where he bowed out in the second round. During the post-match interview after his first-round win over Corentin Moutet, Andy Murray showed his sense of humor.

Asked about his family’s support, Murray said, “My wife’s over there. The kids are back at the hotel. It’s not always fun with them. Having four little ones under 7 is difficult at times.”

It is strange that none of the four kids have taken up the sport or are interested in it. However, they are still young and have a long way to go. Only time will tell if they will follow in the footsteps of their father and pursue tennis as a career.
