As one of the most accomplished individuals in the sporting realm, Roger Federer has had a variety of endorsement deals under his belt over the years, including Nike. The renowned sports apparel brand had partnered with many other big names in the tennis community who were obliged to participate in their collaborations and advertisements. However, the 41-year-old tennis legend had that one unique quality that distinguished him from other athletes.
It has been brought to light by the former director of Nike, Mike Nakajima. He recently lavished praise on the 20 singles Grand Slam champion for his incredible personality in front of the camera.

The former director of Nike lauds Roger Federer and his endorsement endeavors
Mike Nakajima was recently featured in the ‘Talking Tennis’ show in which he opened up about the profound marketing influence of Nike on various athletes. Prior to his collaboration with Uniqlo for a mammoth $300 million, Roger Federer was also a brand ambassador of the sports apparel powerhouse.
Speaking about his commitment to the company, Nakajima said, “His personality is something that many of the top athletes don’t have it but he was here and he is a special person. That’s somebody that I think everybody in Nike store holds really dear to their heart because the chance that we had to work together was very special.”

Meanwhile, the former director of Nike was reminded of one of their old commercials in which Federer was involved in a hilarious act. Taking note of his latent talent, Nakajima was asked if Federer was a good actor in their advertisements. He answered by saying, “I think so. You know, and I think, he doesn’t mind laughing at himself. Right? He’s a funny guy, beautiful smile. You know, it’s got a great sense of humor. And I think in that sense, that becomes very appealing to the consumer.”
Nakajima further lauded Federer for diligently obliging to his off-court duties despite a hectic schedule. He stated, “It was an easy conversation to have. And certainly, in Roger’s case, you know, as, as busy as he was, you always made time for us. Once again, that just speaks volumes to what Roger really is. I mean, I’ve seen him.”
