Pundits dissect the possible partnership between Boris Becker and Holger Rune

Boris Becker and Holger Rune have joined hands together, and tennis fans could not be more excited about the partnership. Rune, who has previously stunned the world with his rapid growth, will now be looking to come back in a surefire way. The two coming together have made tennis experts turn their analyzing modes on. They now have dissected their future together. In a segment of Tennis Channel, Prakash Amritraj, son of Vijay Amritraj, and Paul Annacone gave their opinions on the situation.

Amritraj himself is a big fan of Becker, and he believes he is back where he should be, imparting knowledge to the next generation. Amritaj feels that Holger Rune has a good future. According to Amritaj, sometimes advice needs to come from a prominent figure. Amritraj further talked about the changes we might see because of this union.

Amritaj said, “He’s gonna have a little more pep in his step getting this kind of advice from Becker, who has not only been a legend on the court, but a legend coaching as well, coached Novak to a bunch of grand slams. So I think it will be great for Holger in that aspect. Two, I think they have both been dogs out there on the court. They don’t mind when it gets ugly, they don’t mind when you have to get in the mud. I think that will be good for Holger to embrace that.” Holger Rune is indeed in good hands. But what do the other experts think?

Paul Annacone also had a positive outlook on their partnership, but it was different than Amritraj’s as he believes there are some kinks to work out.

Paul Annacone on Becker and Rune

Annacone, a former player and current coach, also talked about the two joining hands. The American coach feels that although their partnership is a match made in heaven, the situation is still a tricky one.

Annacone said, “Holger has a very strong parental figure in the picture. His mom has been there to help, and she has done a great job. Patrick Mouratoglou is now not in the picture. There’s not a real simplistic kind of equation where you know if it’s gonna work or not until they do it for a bit. See how the personalities mesh. See if there is buy-in, see if there is philosophy agreement, and see if everyone can stay in their lane.”A lot of challenges await Holger Rune, but his inherent sync with Becker will surely assist him in his high aspirations.
