Dylan Alcott is a household name in the world of tennis. The Australian has never failed to thrill audiences despite him being specially abled. In fact, he is the first-ever male player in the history of tennis to win all four major singles titles and the Paralympic gold medal in the same season.

However, Alcott bid adieu to his stellar career after the Australian Open 2022 final. A few years back, the legend caught up with another legend, Arnold Schwarzenegger. After sharing the court with the Australian wheelchair tennis star, the latter seemed happy and rejuvenated.

One Austrian Legend meeting another one

In 2018, the Hollywood heavyweight Arnold Schwarzenegger was seen sharing a court alongside the Australian wheelchair tennis great Dylan Alcott. The duo were involved in a friendly wheelchair affair. During one of the interviews, the 75-year-old shared his experience on the court and how he felt about his body. “I don’t even think that I’m 70. I know I’m 70, but so what? It’s only on my passport or my driver’s licence, but I feel the same way as I did 20 years ago,” he said

He further added, “I feel good about myself. I work out. I make my movies. Life is great. I feel useful and productive.”

Dylan Alcott recently made headlines when he became the first person with a special ability to be crowned the Victorian Australian of the year. He is also the first man in history to win the Golden Slam in a calendar year.

The 31-year-old has won a total of 15 Grand Slams throughout his career. Before getting into tennis, Alcott first made his public appearance as a national Paralympic basketball team member, which ultimately won silver.

Up next, he went on to win gold at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. In addition to hosting his own podcast, he is the founder and executive director of the Dylan Alcott Foundation. The foundation provides scholarships and grants to Australians with Disabilities. Ultimately, he will forever be remembered as an Australian sporting great.
