Spain’s twenty-year-old tennis prodigy, Carlos Alcaraz recently received a great compliment from another former tennis player from Spain, Feliciano Lopez. Not to mention, Alcaraz moved the whole tennis fraternity with his amazing victory at the Wimbledon 2023. After that many renowned tennis stars like Andy Roddick predicted Alcaraz as tennis’s next big three. However, this compliment brought a sly reference to tennis stalwart Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic with Carlos Alcaraz. Now Lopez feels fans should focus on Carlos Alcaraz’s solo contribution to the sport.

This twenty-year-old tennis prodigy couldn’t win the ATP tournament this year. Nevertheless, fans were not at all disappointed seeing Alcaraz’s mindblowing tennis strokes. Following this, Feliciano Lopez expresses his interest in people focusing on this Spanish prodigy’s contribution.

Feliciano Lopez seemed quite impressed with Carlos Alcaraz’s achievements and skills. He recently commented- “At his age he has already won two Grand Slams & has been #1. He is one of those players that comes out every few years. But of course, we tend to compare him with Roger, Rafa, & Novak. People don’t realize what they’ve done.. What happens, if Alcaraz wins 15 Slams it won’t be that big of a deal?”

Lopez disliked the idea of comparing this star with existing stalwarts as he believed every individual tennis legend contributed to the sport in their way. He added to his comment: “The thing is that, until recently, Sampras was at 14 & a man from Manacor arrived & won 14 (Roland Garros). I have lived this time. I have played against them. What has happened is not going to be repeated, the probability is very low.. We have to say, ‘hey, it’s unreal to see a Michael Jordan,’ three of them together every 15 years. Alcaraz is incredibly good. I have no explanation for those three. Let’s enjoy Alcaraz, his career.” Feliciano Lopez’s statement clearly expressed that this former Spanish tennis star wishes to focus on what Alcaraz’s doing right now.
