The Swiss tennis legend has always been grateful for his family’s constant support, especially his wife, Mirka. He once openly expressed his love and gratitude for his wife’s unwavering support throughout his glorious tennis journey.

Roger Federer once expressed his love and gratitude for his wife

The Swiss Maestro, Federer married the former tennis player, Mirka, in 2009. Since then, she has accompanied him to almost every tennis tour. She is often spotted on the stand while cheering for her husband.

During the start of the season in 2012, Federer once expressed his gratitude to his wife for always being there for him. He once stated“But the kids are healthy, they are happy, and Mirka doesn’t want to be away from me, and I don’t want to be away from her,”

Roger Federer stated that his wife doesn’t like to stay away from him during his tours and he also feels the same. He went on to say, “and like this we make it all work that we are actually together all year long, and maybe miss the girls and Mirka maybe one or two weeks during the year, which is just incredible that she’s willing to make all of that effort.”

The Swiss added he misses his family when they are not with him during his tennis tournaments. He also stated, “I’m happy that it’s this way, because anything else would make it more difficult to compete and to play at the highest levels. It would basically be impossible.”

The 20 grand slam went on to say that “it would basically be impossible,” for him to compete and play at the highest level without his wife’s support.

The big four teamed up for Federer’s farewell

Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, and Rafael Nadal teamed up with Federer, for team Europe in the Laver Cup. It was the final tournament for the Swiss tennis legend, Federer, who recently announced his retirement on his social media.

Tennis fans were overwhelmed to see him play at the tournament. They were both excited and emotional at the same time when the ‘Big Four’ teamed for Federer’s final tournament.

The Swiss teamed up with his friend and rival, Rafael Nadal for the doubles event of the tournament. They played against the American tennis duo, Jack Sock, and Frances Tiafoe. But, despite their solid performance, Nadal and Federer were defeated. They both were overwhelmed with emotions after the match. The Swiss Maestro also received a standing ovation from the crowd and tennis fans.
