When someone thinks of Wimbledon, Roger Federer is the name that they will certainly associate with. The King of Grass, Federer has had a remarkable career as a player. Having won 20 grand slams, he took the game to new heights. Out of the 20 slams, 8 were earned on the grass court.
However, this year, things were pretty different for him at Wimbledon. He did not go to the tournament as a player but as a spectator. However, this was a completely new thing for both his fans and his family. After taking the spectator’s seat for the first time, his father asked him a question that many fans would want to.

Federer’s father asks his son a question every tennis fan will resonate with
Talking about his Wimbledon journey, Roger said that it has always been a wonderful thing to come and play on grass. However, he could not make it as a player to Wimbledon 2021 due to an injury but made an appearance as it was the 100-year anniversary celebration. Roger recalls this as a painful moment in his career because he was not sure if he would be able to play again or not.
This year. he attended the event as a spectator and applauded the players from the other side. Roger recalls that his father came to him and whispered, “Don’t you wish you were playing on the court instead of sitting and watching?” expressing his desire to know what his son really feels in post-retirement life.

“No. I feel content watching and enjoying the game,” replies Federer per an article from the New York Times, indicating that he still enjoys the game even if it means watching from the stands.
He also revealed that he had a great relationship with the Princess of Wales, and they had a great time sitting next to each other at the tournament. Federer’s dad’s remarks shed light on the curiosity that every fan has since Roger Federer stepped out of the tennis court.

Roger Federer gave tennis lessons to Princess Catherine’s son
Apart from being an exceptional player, he is an exceptional coach as well. Recently, the Princess of Wales called Roger Federer to give her son some basic insights about the game and how he could excel more in the sport. Roger stated that it was a fun experience to teach the young kid and also mentioned that since he was the only person to visit him, he would have his mindset clear about whom to follow.

Thus, at the moment, Roger Federer’s post-retirement life seems to be going on in full swing. The Swiss star is enjoying his time off-court with frequent visits to the tennis courts. Also, having a good relationship with the princess of Wales led him to a visit to the royal kingdom and train maybe an upcoming superstar!
