Roger Federer, the 20 times Grand Slam winner, has been on the sidelines since his defeat in the 2021 Wimbledon championships. Federer walked out in the quarterfinals of the championship after being outclassed by Hubert Hurkacz in straight sets. Despite the tournament being almost a year away, Federer announced he would miss the upcoming session due to a knee injury.

However, the Swiss recently appeared in a commercial in order to promote tourism in his homeland. Following the success of the commercial, Federer took a travel-related Q and A session.

Roger Federer, in the interview, spoke about his favorite travel experiences and disclosed how he desires to have more road trips. He said, “I haven’t done everything in Switzerland, but it always has been a dream of mine to go out and about and discover more.”

Federer’s Comeback

Roger Federer underwent two surgeries prior to his return in 2021 and after his quarterfinals run in Wimbledon, he decided to go under the knife for the third time. However, amidst all the rumors of his retirement, the former World No.1 has announced a comeback. He will grace the courts in the upcoming tournament based in his hometown.

Federer has signed for the Swiss Indoors Basel 2022, which will commence in October. The tennis legend has won 10 Basel titles and will be the defending champion of this year’s event. Further, the tournament will also make a comeback after two long years of being called off because of the pandemic.
