Roger Federer said goodbye to tennis at the O2 arena in London. For more than a year, the tennis star was struggling with injuries and tried his best to make a comeback, but it seemed impossible for him. The Swiss maestro played tennis for almost 24 years.
The whole O2 arena was packed with fans who wanted to see the tennis legend play for the last time. Not only that, his fans have even turned this opportunity to earn some extra money. The renowned ‘RF’ brand cap, which was worn by the Swiss tennis legend, was sold out for ten times the suggested retail price on the occasion of his last tennis match.

Roger Federer’s cap sold out at a heavy price
Earlier this week, a limited-edition cap celebrating tennis legend Federer‘s final dance went on sale. Few fans sold it outside the arena where the Laver Cup was held, and some were for sale in the souvenir shops. The caps were available in a variety of colors and a sign of commonality in the audience at most of his tennis matches.
The merchandise has the RF logo inscribed on it. Some of them were of black color, which were made for the special occasion has Laver Cup written on the side. After learning about the Swiss maestro’s plans for retirement, fans flocked to buy any memorabilia they could grab.

The caps were originally priced at £36 before the hurricane. Tennis fans purchased these hats and sold them for a whooping price on eBay and made extra profit from the tennis legend’s retirement game. Some of them were sold at £300 or £400 on eBay. These merchandises were sold at higher prices outside the event location.
Federer choose to play a double for his last match
The Swiss maestro played doubles for his last match alongside his arch-rival and friend, Rafael Nadal. However, they both lost the match to team World’s young duo. Before announcing his retirement, the 20-time grand slam champion was supposed to play singles but seeing the body taken over his body, he decide to go for a doubles battle.

The Laver Cup has seen these two tennis giants take over a lot of victories and has given a lot of friendship moments to their fans. After playing Federer’s final match, the Spaniard’s emotions showed how appreciative he was to play with him for this last tournament.
