Zendaya to star in a new romantic tennis film

The Emmy-winning actress will feature in a new romantic drama set in the world of professional tennis. The film is situated in the Challenger Tour, and thus titled “Challengers”. The ATP Challenger Tour is the lowest tier of professional tennis competition, after the ATP tour.

According to an early synopsis, Zendaya will play a player-turned-coach, Tashi, who has transformed her husband Art (Mike Faist) into a Grand Slam champion. However, Art enters a “Challenger” event to regain his form after a losing streak, “where he must face off against Patrick ( Josh O’Connor), Tashi’s former boyfriend and his former best friend.”
