Stefanos Tsitsipas and Novak Djokovic had a spectacular showdown at the Italian Open 2022 in Rome. The Serbian player dominated the match and won the finals to not just claim the title but also the hearts of the people. After the match, Tsitsipas admired Novak’s consistency and praised his worthy opponent after the match as he also shared his views on the Serb’s gameplay.

Stefanos Tsitsipas put up a great fight. However, it was not strong enough to keep Novak Djokovic out. The world no. 1 strived back and claimed the title under his name. Stefanos gracefully pointed out the greatness of Djokovic and his ability to win big matches.  

“Every single decision he has made, I understand it, even the ones in the past. I think he’s a very wise person, and he knows exactly what he’s doing.”

The Greek player praised the routine and timetable that Djokovic has formed for himself to be the best in the field and made an observation about the same.

“He has everything tuned in close to perfection. He’s like a Formula 1 car: every single small detail can disrupt his rhythm. Of course, cannot neglect that and not feel inspired by it because it’s professionalism to the fullest.” Furthermore, he complimented his career stats and mentioned, “He’s one of the most professional and the best of them all.”

The comeback of world no. 1

Novak had been on a hiatus for some time because of his vaccination status. The player made a comeback at the Monte Carlo Masters but failed to claim victory. But, Djokovic was persistent enough to keep doing the thing he loves the most and finally tasted victory at the Rome Masters, where he claimed his sixth title without losing a set.
