Andre Agassi has always been famous for his aggression and free expression of emotions on the court. During his playing days, he used to adorn the headlines for picking arguments with the umpires and opponents. In fact, Agassi had a drastically different on-court attitude compared to his rival Pete Sampras. It made the game more interesting. Though at the same time, his temper affected his personal life adversely.

According to his former wife Brooke Shields, the eight-time Grand Slam champion’s emotional ups and downs created a drift among them. She in an interview spoke about how the spark died and things ended between them.

The Hollywood actress and former model who climbed the ladder of success at a tender age of 12, spoke about her failed marriage in a 2021 interview. She confessed to an odd sense of familiarity with Agassi’s coldness and said, “It felt hateful at times, but I waited it out.”

“Navigating someone else’s moods was a task I knew all too well. This would be a piece of cake. I almost liked it, quite honestly. It was familiar and the hint of martyrdom was not a poor fit.”

Thereafter Shields added, “We had love, but it did not seem like that was enough. I always thought love was enough. But the truth was we were growing past one another. And I’m not sure if we individually enjoyed how the other liked to live.”

The union between the two superstars of different industries was for sure celebrated. They tied the knot in the year 1997 after bonding via fax in 1993. Though because of the differences and emotional distance, the couple decided to part ways. They filed for a divorce in the year 1999.

Thereafter, the former world no.1 found his soulmate in fellow tennis ace and 22 times Grand Slam champion Steffi Graf. He and the German exchanged vows in 2001 and now are parents to 20-year-old Jaden Gil Agassi and 18-year-old Jaz Elle Agassi.

The 57-year-old recently attended the US Open finals. Dolled in a all white attire consisting of white vest, white trousers and a wrist full of bangles, she walked into the stadium to witness the high-profile clash between Iga Swiatek and Ons Jabeur. Though what instantly caught her attention was the humongous Andre Agassi poster.

She was thrilled to see her ex-husband’s picture. Therefore Shields jokingly posed beneath it and after enjoying the finals of the Grand Slam, she shared the picture on her social media handle.
