Former world no.1 Carlos Moya, as he was recently exposed to a question of marking one of his best matches in all these years, gave an answer that not only reminded fans of Rafa’s excellent form but also acted as a boost to expectations of fans over his highly anticipated comeback.

Even Carlos Moya, a Spanish tennis star, couldn’t resist admiring the match. Talking about Rafa’s win, On being asked about the greatest match of all these years, “Medvedev, the Roland Garros that he won that year… I know the conditions in which he arrives, I know how he is in each match, I see what he has and what he does,” he mentioned, recalling the Roland Garros match he played against Medvedev.

As the Spaniard was asked about the greatest match of all this, he sounded quite firm at remembering a match between Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic at the Roland Garros finals in 2022. He stated, “I don’t know if in the history of tennis there is any player who has won a Grand Slam in the conditions in which Rafa was at Roland Garros.”

The match happened to be a feat that according to Moya, must be counted as one of the most incredible ones in tennis history. While the Spaniard added Rafa’s amazing victory at the Roland Garros 2022, the fans were quick to remember the match that was way more than just a competition.

A look back to the match still remembered

When tennis legends Rafa and Djokovic stood against each other at the French Open 2022 finals, the odds seemed to favor the Serbinator. While both players faced several uncertainties in entering the clay court season, Djokovic stood ahead of the Spaniard, who kept looking for a stable point after a fractured rib and dealing with a foot injury.

But besides all odds against, it was Rafael Nadal at the Roland Garros. With 110 wins and just three losses on his home turf, Nadal has proven his worth for 17 years that stats and minor setbacks cannot stop him from the event that has become his comfort zone.

While the tennis star is all set to make his comeback after such a long break, Moya’s words doubled up the expectations of the fans from the tennis star who has always defied the impact of injuries.
