The defending champion is currently two sets down against his young Italian opponent, who is now a set away from winning the semifinals. But fans have still refused to write off the Serbian tennis legend, as they are certain of a comeback.

The current world No. 1 player has been stunned by Jannik, who is currently up 6-1, 6-2, in their blockbuster clash at the Rod Laver Arena. However, Djokovic’s struggling start to the game is now being deemed ‘part of the plan‘ by a flurry of fans on social media.

Fans react to Novak Djokovic’s slow start to semifinal match against Jannik Sinner

Now that they are playing the third set of the match, Novak Djokovic has still had zero break-point chances against Jannik Sinner. As the defending champion dropped the opening two sets, a popular tennis fan page shed light on his lackluster performance. The user tweeted, “Djokovic looks like he barely wants to be on court.”

A flurry of fans flocked to the comments section to drop their reactions to the Serbian player’s struggling start to his game. A fan said, “part of his usual tactics”

While sharing a GIF of the 24-time singles Grand Slam champion smashing his racket on the court, a fan commented, “Racquet smash incoming…”

Nole has made a number of phenomenal comebacks at various tournaments during his illustrious tennis journey. Notably, another user asserted that it is all part of his plans as the Serb will pull off another brilliant comeback from two sets down in the semifinal match. The fan commented, “All part of the plan….we all know the script”

Djokovic has often become a target of harsh backlash owing to his bathroom breaks, which many fans deem his secret tactical weapon.

In the comments section, a fan also claimed that the Serb would take a toilet break and would later turn the match in his favor.  The user stated “but as usual he will take a toilet break and things will change”

Similarly, another fan said that the 36-year-old player would ask for medical time as he was struggling in the first two sets. The user commented, “oh he’s about to ask for medical time or he’s going to take it against the public don’t worry!”
