Rafael Nadal has been battling with the unrelenting problem of injuries for the last few years. During a news conference held ahead of his Barcelona Open match, Rafael Nadal made it clear that he was “tired of talking about his difficulties.” Nadal’s refusal to focus on his injuries comes after he mentioned the mental toll they have taken on him.

Rafael Nadal has had a difficult 2023 owing to his repeated hip injuries. His hip issues started after he suffered a hip muscle injury at the Australian Open in January. Although he made a comeback in Brisbane later that year, but again struggled with his injury during the match.

Even at the start of 2024, Nadal withdrew from the Indian Wells as well. He opened up about the reason, saying that he was not ready to play yet. However, after many struggles, he is finally making a comeback at the Barcelona Open. But when asked about his injury during the conference, he said, “I get tired of talking about my difficulties.”

He further added, “I take things as they can. We know what there is. We don’t have to hide anything. Why talk more than is necessary? I didn’t feel like talking about the abs.” This is not the first time that he has refused to talk about his injuries. Even during Wimbledon 2022, he expressed that he was a bit tired of talking about his body. And since then, he has always tried to maintain his privacy regarding the subject.

His exhausted response reflects the relentless observation and the constant queries that he faces on and off the court. Referring to that, he acknowledged that his struggles have a negative mental impact on him. “On a mental level, these things end up affecting me. I know it can happen (get worse), but we will continue until I have the feeling. that it’s not worth it to continue doing the things I do. I don’t set a deadline, but life shows you the path,” he said.
