Following Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev and Stefanos Tsitsipas Qualify For ATP Finals 2021

World No.2 Daniil Medvedev won his first Grand Slam title at the US Open 2021. The Russian steamrolled over 20-time Grand Slam champion, Novak Djokovic, and ended his 27-match winning streak at the Grand Slams this year. The final scoreline of the match was 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.

After the US Open 2021 victory, Daniil Medvedev has qualified for the ATP Finals 2021. The tournament will take place in Turin, Italy this year. He became the second player to book his spot at the tournament after World No.1 Novak Djokovic. The ATP Tour informed everyone about his qualification via a tweet.

Medvedev has played some really great tennis right from the beginning of the 2021 tennis season. He has won a Grand Slam, a Masters 1000 tournament, and also achieved his career-high ranking of World No.2 this year.

The Russian is currently the defending champion at the ATP Finals. Last year, he defeated many big players including Novak Djokovic, Dominic Thiem, and Rafael Nadal to clinch the title.

Stefanos Tsitsipas joins Daniil Medvedev in Turin

Even though the US Open 2021 didn’t end on a high note for Stefanos Tsitsipas, there is some really great news coming for him and his fans. After his phenomenal play in the 2021 season so far, Tsitsipas has also qualified for the ATP Finals 2021.

The ATP Tour posted a short video of Tsitsipas informing the fans that he is now one of the eight players to feature at the ATP Finals. They also wrote a beautiful caption along with the post.

“See you in Torino, Stefanos Tsitsipas! The 2019 champion has qualified for the Nitto ATP Finals,” tweeted the official page of the ATP Tour.

Interestingly, Tsitsipas has already won the ATP Finals in 2019. Even though he began the tournament as the sixth-seeded player back then, he defeated the likes of Roger Federer, Daniil Medvedev, and Dominic Thiem to win the title.

Thus, both the young superstars have sealed their spots at the ATP Finals 2021. Fans are quite exhilarated about the tournament and hope to see some pretty amazing encounters there. Who will emerge as the winner of the ATP Finals in Turin this year?
