Former tennis player Ion Tiriac commented on the comeback of Federer and how it will not be possible for the tennis legend to be competitive given his age and the new competition he will have to face.

Federer has been on a hiatus for a year. His comeback is something that his fans have been looking forward to with whole earnest. Ion Tiriac talked about the new generation of players and who would be the one to replace the legendary ‘Big Three’.
Replacing Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer at the top has to be done by someone who is up to the mark in the game and the Romanian legend believes that it will be Carlos Alcaraz.

On Federer’s comeback, he said, “At 40 years old, I had already retired, but I was playing eight hours a day with Guillermo Vilas. I started playing tournaments for fun and I reached 60th in the world in three months. With Vilas in doubles, we were No. 2 or 3 in the world, we were at the Masters.”
When will Roger Federer be back on court?
He further talked about how Federer can approach the game now.
“If you like tennis, fine, but being competitive at 40 years old… no, no.”

The Swiss Maestro has announced that he will be playing at the Laver Cup this year. This means that he is set to miss out Wimbledon, which is undoubtedly his favorite tournament.
