There’s no doubt about the fact that artificial intelligence has come a long way, and it still has a long way to go. However, its current avatar isn’t doing too badly when it comes to leaving people awestruck. Midjourney, an AI program that can generate images based on natural language descriptions, recently rose up to a Twitter user’s challenge. The user asked the program to generate images of people based on what it thinks they look like on the basis of their names.

The Midjourney version of ‘Roger’ was uncannily similar to Roger Federer

When the Twitter user posing the challenge to Midjourney posted the results, the fans were taken aback. The post covered many names, but one of them stood out more than most because of the image that came with it. It was none other than the image of ‘Roger’, which looked like an older version of the 20-time Grand Slam winner Roger Federer, the tennis legend who inspired athletes across numerous sports.

Roger Federer fans couldn’t hide their surprise at the resemblance of the AI-generated image to their favorite tennis player of all time. One user simply stated, “Roger!” along with a tennis ball emoji.
